It’s hard to believe that just over a month ago, Her Second Chapter lived only in my heart.
For years, I carried this dream inside me—the dream of creating something meaningful. Something that would encourage women like me: women stepping into the second act of their lives with hearts full of hope… and maybe also some fear, fatigue, or uncertainty.
And now, here we are.
One Month of Showing Up
It has been one month since I took the leap and began pursuing my dreams.
Not just thinking about them,
not just hoping for them,
but finally stepping forward in faith.
Dreams that had lived in my heart for over 30 years.
It’s been one month of showing up.
One month of learning (so much learning!).
One month of building, tweaking, surrendering, and trusting.
One month of late nights,
early mornings,
unexpected breakthroughs,
small setbacks,
and the kind of progress you can’t always see on the surface—but feel in your spirit.
And most of all?
One month of watching God show up. Again and again.
The Beauty of Surrender Over Striving
This month hasn’t been perfect.
I’ve had moments where I lost my peace, felt overwhelmed, or questioned whether I was doing enough—or doing any of it right.
But I’ve also had moments where I’ve felt more aligned than I ever have before. More at peace. More like myself.
Because this time, I’m not building from a place of striving. I’m building from a place of surrender.
This time, I’m not chasing validation or hustling for worth.
I’m walking with the Lord, hand in hand. I’m showing up, doing the next thing in front of me, and trusting Him with the outcomes.
And somehow, in the midst of it all, Her Second Chapter came to life.
What Pursuing My Dreams Looks Like
If you’re new here, let me take a moment to share what Her Second Chapter is all about.
Her Second Chapter was born from a deep desire to help women step confidently into their next season—to rediscover their identity, rekindle their dreams, and reignite their faith as they embrace their next chapter.
For years, this dream stirred inside me.
I knew there were women out there—women like me—who felt the shift happening in their lives and wondered, What’s next? I wanted to create a space where we could explore that question together.
On February 20, I took my first step and launched Her Second Chapter on Substack. From there, piece by piece, I opened the doors—first to social media, then to my blog and newsletter. It didn’t happen all at once. It wasn’t perfect. But it was a beginning.
And now, just one month later, what once lived only in my heart is out in the world.
It’s Not Too Late to Begin
If you’ve been carrying a dream inside you—one that feels too big, too uncertain, or maybe like its time has passed—I want to whisper something to your heart:
It’s not too late. You’re not too far behind. And you don’t have to do it all at once.
You just have to take the next step.
Looking Ahead with Trust
Looking back over this past month, I’m in awe of what God has done with just one willing heart, a whole lot of learning, and a little bit of tech help (thanks, Alfred! 😉).
And if He can do this in just a month… I can only imagine what He’ll do in the months to come.
